Sri Lanka, known as the Wonder of Asia, is rich in culture, history, diversity and undeniable beauty. The advantage of Sri Lanka as a tourism destination is threefold. For the simplicity of communicating the diversity of Sri Lanka in 2010 the tourism authorities started positioning the country around 8 different products namely; Beaches, Heritage, Wildlife, Scenic Beauty, Mind and Body wellness, Festivals, Sports and Adventure and Essence.
As Sri Lanka is a tropical island, it is surrounded by sea; each beach differing in its own way as well, allowing Sri Lanka to be the perfect year round beach destination. Due to varying climate conditions and geography it is an ideal destination for sports tourism and is home to an impressive amount of wildlife. There are 8 world heritage sites within the country which include; the hill capital Kandy, sacred city of Anuradhapura, Galle fort, Polonnaruva, Sigiriya, golden rock temple of Dambulla, the beautiful Horton plains and the Sinharaja rain forest and numerous smaller and less significant others.

The Essence of Sri Lanka –what makes it unique is its people, art, culture, spices, tea, gems, life style, handy crafts etc. Whether it is drinking a refreshing cup of milk tea in the morning, taking a trip to Galle Face Beach near sunset, tasting spicy rice and curry, going surfing at Arugambay or watching the Kandy Perahera, Sri Lanka has something to offer everyone.
